Pedestrian OK after being struck by car near CVS in Decatur

A pedestrian was sent to the hospital but is expected to be OK after being hit by a car near the CVS in Decatur.

The incident occurred during lunch on Wednesday Oct. 4.

“Decatur Police responded to a person struck by a vehicle in the 1000 block of Commerce Drive,” Lt. Jennifer Ross said. “The pedestrian crossed the roadway and was standing in the middle turn lane and the vehicle was turning north onto Commerce Drive from the Commerce Square parking lot. The pedestrian’s hip was struck by the vehicle. The pedestrian had no visible injuries and did not complain of any injuries but was transported to an area hospital as a precaution. No citations were issued.”
