On Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Decatur Recreation Center is hosting the first of a series of public workshops to update Decatur’s Community Transportation Plan.

According to a recent press release, the city will be able “to identify various mobility needs and to take a deep look at the state of mobility in Decatur.”

The goal of these workshops is to:

– Discuss the future of all modes of transportation
– Identify current and future needs
– Make short and long-term recommendations
– Develop a vision for new mobility options and improvements throughout the city

Decatur hired jB+a, a professional consultant team, as well as Toole Design Group help with the plan update process.

You can stay up-to-date on the Community Transportation Plan via www.decaturnext.com.
