The Avondale Estates Police Department says a robbery occurred in the city on Oct. 8 around 9 p.m.

The incident happened in the 100 block of Chelsea Court in the Condos of Avondale Estates.

“The victim had just arrived home when a male approached him, demanded his book bag and left in a waiting automobile,” the Police department said. “The suspect is described as a thin, African-American male in his 20’s with light facial hair wearing all black clothing including a hoodie, pants and shoes. The automobile is described as a black, late-model sedan (possibly an Impala or a Taurus) with fluorescent lighting and tinted windows. No weapon was seen or implied, and no injuries sustained during the incident. If anyone sees a vehicle or subject matching this description you are asked to call 911 right away.
