Callanwolde Fine Arts Center has settled its lawsuit against two former dance instructors.

Jennilee Green, one of the defendants, confirmed the two sides reached a settlement agreement a month ago. The details are confidential, she said.

“Both parties are happy with the outcome,” she said.

Callanwolde’s attorney also confirmed the settlement.

The lawsuit alleged the dance instructors started a business to compete with their former employer.

Green and the other dance instructor, Kelly Dent, started Dance Foundry in Decatur after leaving Callanwolde.  When the lawsuit was filed, Dance Foundry’s attorney said the conflict between the instructors and Callanwolde stemmed from Callanwolde’s decision to stop staging “The Nutcracker” during the holidays, a popular show.

The instructors were served with notice of the lawsuit while teaching a dance class at a local church.
