DeKalb County garbage collection will be delayed again this week

Garbage collection for DeKalb County residents will be delayed again this week as the Sanitation Department tries to catch up from last week’s winter weather and Martin Luther King Jr. holiday delays.

Due to delays in servicing last week’s residential customers, the DeKalb County Sanitation Division announces a revised residential collection schedule for this week. Garbage, recycling and yard trimmings collection will run one day late through Friday.

The revised schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Jan. 23 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day was Monday, Jan. 22, will be serviced on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Wednesday, Jan. 24 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is Tuesday, Jan. 23, will be serviced on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Thursday, Jan. 25 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is Wednesday, Jan. 24, will be serviced on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Friday, Jan. 26 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is Thursday, Jan. 25, will be serviced on Friday, Jan. 26.
