The Decatur Community Players recently won an award at the 2017 Junior Theater Festival.
This annual Atlanta festival is put on by Theatrics and Music Theater International.
Every participating group prepares a 15-minute piece to perform in front of Broadway professionals.
The Decatur Community Players was one of 119 groups at the festival, and they won the Inspiration Award, which was given to three of the participating groups for their “inspiration of the spirit of the festival.”
The Decatur Community Players is a children’s musical theater company, made up of kids ranging from nine through 16 years old. The group includes kids from Decatur, Druid Hills, Clarkston, Pine Lake, and Dunwoody.
