On Saturday, April 28, the City of Decatur is hosting a Spring Electronics Recycling Day.

Between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can come by Decatur Public Works at 2635 Talley Street with old electronics, as well as styrofoam and documents for shredding.

You can bring in a variety of items such as, answering machines, batteries, garden equipment, CD players, remote controls, invoices, canceled checks, styrofoam labeled with ‘“6,” and much more.

According to a recent press release, “since 2005, [the City of Decatur has] diverted more than 1 million pounds of electronics from landfills.”

For more information about items that will be accepted for recycling, visit the City of Decatur’s website by clicking here.
