DeKalb to hold Household Hazardous Waste Recycling event on March 17

The DeKalb County Sanitation Department.

On Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., the DeKalb County Sanitation Division is hosting a Spring Household Hazardous Waste Recycling event, which is free for all DeKalb residents.

The event will provide “residents an opportunity to properly dispose of dangerous household chemicals,” as stated in a recent press release.

Held at the Central Transfer Station of the Sanitation Division, located at 3720 Leroy Scott Drive in Decatur, this event will accept hazardous waste recycling while providing locals with educational materials on the site.

– Aerosols
– Batteries
– Adhesives
– Flammables
– Lawn care products
– Fluorescent light bulbs
– Photo chemicals
– Art supplies
– Paint/paint-related products (note: participants will be capped at 10 gallons of paint per
vehicle)

The following will not be accepted:

– Agricultural waste
– Ammunition
– Pharmaceuticals
– Radioactive materials
– Biohazardous/biomedical waste
