The LifeLine Animal Project is giving residents in the Atlanta area the chance to foster dogs for just a weekend with their new Weekend Warriors Program.

Designed to help the shelter’s dogs get out and explore, the program allows volunteers to take care of a dog over one weekend. Volunteers can take the pets to do just about anything.

“From dog-friendly patios, to hiking in the North Georgia Mountains, to spending the weekend binge-watching Netflix, our pups benefit greatly when they take a break from the shelter,” a LifeLine press release said.

The dogs eligible for the program are medium- to large-sized dogs who have been in the shelter for at least three months. LifeLine will provide food, a crate, a leash, and an “Adopt me” vest.

The dogs must be picked up on Friday and dropped off on Monday, although volunteers can “keep the dog as long as you’d like after that.” Both Fulton and DeKalb County LifeLine locations are participating.
