Man robbed after leaving a MARTA bus in Decatur

Decatur Police say a man was robbed after getting off of a MARTA bus in the 100 block of Swanton Way.

Police were notified of the incident on March 23. The report says the crime occurred March 22 around 10 p.m.

“The victim was walking along Swanton Way after getting off of a MARTA bus. The victim was then approached by two males and a female,” an alert from the Police Department says. “One of the males asked the victim for the time. The victim did not give the male the time and continued walking. A couple of moments later, the victim was assaulted from behind and fell to the ground. The victim was punched and kicked in his face and head. The suspects stole a debit card from the victim. The victim was treated at a local hospital for his injuries.”

Police provided the following descriptions of the suspects.

– Suspect #1: Black male, light complexion, approximately 5’11, approximately 210 pounds, middle thirties, beard, wearing blue sweat pants, and blue Michael Jordan shoes

– Suspect #2: Black male, medium complexion, approximately 6’03, approximately 195 pounds, middle thirties, beard, wearing black pants, a white/orange windbreaker, and black shoes

– Suspect #3: Black female, light complexion, approximately 5’06, brown hair with highlights, wearing black pants
