Kirkwood residents wanted to know why a helicopter was flying over Wyman Street at Memorial Drive on Tuesday evening.

Atlanta Police said they were looking for two suspects accused of stealing a truck.

“On April 24, 2018 at approximately 10:10 p.m. officers were dispatched to an auto theft at 1300 Forest Lakes Ave. SE.,” a spokesperson for the Police Department said. “The victims were maintenance workers at the apartment complex and left the vehicle, a black Dodge Ram truck, running as they retrieved trash from around the complex. When they returned to where the vehicle was parked, it was missing.”

The two male suspects were seen in the area of Lamon Avenue Southeast near Memorial Drive Southeast.

“The vehicle was located at 270 Lamon Ave. SE and the Phoenix unit was requested to assist in locating the suspects who had fled from the vehicle,” the police spokesperson said. “The area was searched; however, the suspects were not immediately located. The vehicle was returned to the victims and a cellphone, wallet and keys were missing. The investigation continues.”
