DeKab County Police say that a wrong-way driver hit another car head on Thursday, sending the occupants to the hospital.

“At 2:35 p.m., a male was driving a gold Chevrolet on the wrong way on Memorial Drive over I-285, crashing head-on into another vehicle,” a police spokesperson said. “The vehicle that the male was driving overturned and caught fire. DeKalb Fire Rescue extinguished the fire. The female driver and daughter in the other vehicle were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.”

The spokesperson added, “The Sheriff’s Office has the male in Intake, but [the DeKalb County Polce Department] has to investigate the accident and file formal charges against the male driver.”
