Commissioner Bradshaw working to help fund a new Tobie Grant Recreational Center

On May 1, Commissioner Steve Bradshaw presented a plan to allocate $250,000 in park bond funds for the construction of District 4’s new Tobie Grant Recreational Center.
Bradshaw suggested the allocation at a recent County Commission meeting.
“A new Tobie Grant Recreational Center will be a long sought-after amenity for DeKalb County,” Bradshaw said in a recent press release. “It will be a center focused on the intergenerational physical well-being of the community.”
According to a recent press release, construction will be made possible with District 4 funding as well as “$6.3 million from DeKalb County general funds and $2.75 million from federal Community Development Block Grant funds.”
When the new center, attendees can take advantage of 29,835 square feet of recreation center, including:
– Intergenerational programming
– A library
– Multipurpose rooms
– Administrative offices
– Multipurpose courts
– Gymnasium and track
