The Decatur Arts Festival is returning this Memorial Day Weekend. From Friday, May 25 and through Sunday, May 27, all are invited to venture to downtown Decatur and enjoy all of the art on display.
While there will be an artist market extending through various tents, there will also be live performances of music, dance, stand up and improv comedy as well as literary events and a children’s festival.
The festival is free to attend.

A few events will occur throughout the month, prior to the festival weekend. Later this week, look out for the Poster Unveiling on May 10, and the Decatur Lantern Parade on May 11.
The Poster Unveiling is a free event to reveal the 2018 Decatur Arts Festival Poster. Come out to the Oakhurst Solarium from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday for a copy of the poster, live music, and refreshments.
The following night, the Decatur Lantern Parade will take the streets of downtown Decatur to “celebrate the arts and the start of the summer.”
Those interested are invited to meet at Color Wheel Studio on Howard Avenue at 8 p.m. and carry lanterns alongside the Black Sheep Marching Ensemble in a parade to downtown. To find out more about the parade, visit: www.decaturlanternparade.com.
