People who regularly mail a check to pay for DeKalb County water and sewer services, take note.

As of June 4, those checks will need to be mailed to North Carolina.

According to the county, “The address for all DeKalb County utility payments, including water/sewer payments, has changed. DeKalb County’s utility payments are processed by Wells Fargo, which is moving its Columbus, Georgia, retail payment processing to its strategic Charlotte, North Carolina, processing site.”

The new payment address is:

DeKalb County Remittance

P.O. Box 71224

Charlotte, NC 28272-1224

Payments sent to the old address will be forwarded to the new one and there will be no penalty for forwarded payments, the county says.

The county adds that, “Customers may continue making payments by phone at 1-866-227-8924; in the lobby at 774 Jordan Lane, Suite 200, Decatur, GA 30033; and online at www.dekalbcountyga.gov.”
