UPDATE: Intense afternoon thunderstorm causes flash flooding in Decatur

After a warm, sunny day on Monday, June 11, thunderstorms swooped into the Decatur area and took some local streets by surprise.
The city reports there are about a dozen trees down and some downed power lines, which have caused outages for several hundred customers in the area. There are no injuries reported so far.
Residents reported flooding at North Decatur Road and Superior Avenue.

A DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputy came to the rescue of two women who were stuck in their car.
