Tractor trailer carrying cows overturns on the interstate

DeKalb County Police say the I-20 east bound exit on I-285 has reopened after a tractor trailer full of cows overturned at the location.
The truck was carrying 36 cows. Three died as a result of the accident. The rest are headed to Augusta, according to a police department spokesperson. The incident happened at 5:04 a.m.
“The driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries,” the spokesperson said. “The DeKalb County Police Department, DeKalb Emergency Management Agency, DeKalb Animal Services, Georgia Department of Transportation and Georgia Department of Natural Resources all responded to the scene. The incident is under investigation.”
