Additionally, Lifeline’s “shelter dog with a job” Otter will make an appearance, and anyone who adopts a dog or buys any book will receive homemade dog biscuit.
“People are usually dragging their feet by the end of July. That’s when the dog star, also called Sirius, appears in the nighttime sky,” Tall Tales bookseller Eve Shulmister said. “What better way to liven up these days than with a celebration of dogs! We hope this will turn out to be an annual event.”
The event will take place from 3 to 6 PM at 2105 LaVista Road in the Toco Hills Shopping Center.
