Almost two years ago, one-year-old Asher Krop tragically died from pneumonia.

His family lives in Decatur, and after their baby’s death in December 2016, they started to raise money for medical bills and funeral expenses. They received a lot of support from community members, and the extra money that they received went to charity in honor of Asher’s life.

Since then, his family has found a way to cope with their loss. Asher’s mom, Denise Gangadharan, has made the Asher Krop Memorial Fund, supporting research about the virus that killed him.
