The Decatur Civic Chorus is recruiting new members throughout the next month, inviting interested singers to attend open rehearsals with the group, according to a DCC press release.
Open rehearsals will be held every Monday throughout September, beginning on Labor Day, which is Sept. 3.
The DCC presents concerts for the community in December and June and performs at a number of events, including the Red Cross Fundraiser, each year.
“The DCC is growing in numbers, energy, and excitement and welcomes all who love to sing into its musical family,” the release said. “The group meets newcomers at their level of musicianship, as each rehearsal is a learning experience for new and long-term members alike.”
Singers of all levels and backgrounds – high school choral students, longtime choral singers, or even those who want to try singing for the first time – are welcome.
Regular weekly rehearsals are held from September through May on Mondays at 7 p.m. at Decatur First Baptist Church, 308 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, Ga. 30030. Enter on the north side of the church.
For more information, go to the DCC Facebook page. Questions can be directed to Scott Keesey, the chorus conductor, at 770-722-3769 or [email protected].
