Decatur Police responded to a call about a shed burglary on Tuesday, Aug. 21, and it led to a foot chase followed by a K9 search for the suspects.
Lt. Jennifer Ross said police responded to a call about a shed burglary in the 100 block of Erie Avenue at 1:41 p.m. A caller had provided police with a description of the suspects who fled the scene on bicycles.
“One of our officers spotted the two suspects on Church Street and a foot chase ensued with one of the suspects through Glenlake Park over to Glendale Avenue,” Lt. Jennifer Ross said. “A DeKalb PD K9 unit responded to assist and one of the suspects was located inside a storm drain pipe under Glendale Avenue. The second suspect was not located. The second suspect was described as a black male, early-mid 20’s, dark complexion, athletic build, close-cut hair, wearing a black shirt and long tan shorts, riding a dark green bicycle.”
Ross said police are still working on the case. This story will be updated if more information becomes available.
