UPDATE: DeKalb County finishing repair of water main break on Coventry Road in Decatur

If you live in the area of 700 Coventry Road in Decatur and are noticing water pressure issues, there’s a reason.

The county says it’s working to fix a damaged 16-inch water main in the area.

“Crews have isolated a portion of the water main to make repairs on the pipe where contractors bored a hole,” an alert from the county says. “Some customers may be affected by water outages.”

The county estimates the repairs will be completed by 11 p.m. The water outage affected 150 to 200 customers.

“Customers who experience brown water should run water until clear,” the county says.

Reader Mitsuko Ito said neighbors teamed up to protect homes near the water main break.

“Neighbors came to the rescue, to dig trenches and mud piles, and pump water from crawl spaces to avoid major damages,” she said. “They were super quick to act and made a big difference!”
