Coming up on Saturday morning, Oct. 20, all are invited to take part in Autumn Electronics Recycling Day.

In order to participate, drop off recyclables between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Decatur Public Works, located at 2635 Talley St. Note that early drop-offs are not accepted. Those looking to donate larger electronics, monitors cost $5 and TVs cost $10 to recycle.

Since the city’s efforts began in 2005, Decatur has “diverted more than 1,000,000 pounds of electronics from landfills,” according to a recent press release.

In addition to electronics, Decatur Public Works will also be recycling old Styrofoam as well as shredding and recycling important documents with the help of AAA Security Shredding.
