DeKalb County’s Maloof administration is closed for the rest of the day (Friday, Sept. 14) due to a power outage.
It’s not clear what caused the outage. An outage map on the Georgia Power website shows 57 customers have been affected and estimated power would be restored before 4 p.m.
A reader sent an email saying the power was also out at Scott Boulevard and Coventry and was restored at 3 p.m. but then went out again. The reader says its causing traffic to back up. It’s unclear whether the two outages are linked.
Here’s the full announcement from DeKalb County:
DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County’s Maloof Administration Building, located at 1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, Ga., is closed for the rest of the day due to a Georgia Power outage in the area.
The Clark Harrison Building, 330 West Ponce De Leon Ave., also is closed.
