Decatur Makers, a local maker space, is currently seeking applicants for a “Makerspace Manager” job position.

In the position, the manager will work part-time to assist with all aspects of managing the maker space and the organization as a whole, according to the job listing. They will help with member management, coordinating use of the space, volunteer and event coordination and more.

Additionally, “they will work closely with the executive director to help the larger community get more value from the space,” the listing says. The manager may potentially give tours and respond to inquiries about the space.

In particular, the job will require some availability after school hours, weekday evenings, and weekends.

The position includes a basic individual membership to Decatur Makers, and the salary is listed at $225 per week for a 15-hour work week. The start date is flexible, but will likely be in early November.

Applicants must have “experience working well with others,” “willingness and interest in learning to use most if not all the equipment and tools [they] have available,” and knowledge of “some aspects of making,” among a few other requirements.
