The Decatur Police Department responded to a robbery Monday evening, Oct. 1.

Officers responded to the call at 7:58 p.m. in the 100 block of Glendale Avenue.

“The victim reported she was walking and was approached from behind by an unknown female who grabbed her by the shoulders and spun her around,” the Police Department says. “The suspect stated that she had a firearm under her clothing and demanded the victim’s possessions. The victim resisted and a struggle ensued. A neighbor heard the victim yelling for help and approached. The suspect saw the neighbor coming to help and removed the victim’s cell phone from the victim’s pocket and ran northbound on Glendale Avenue.”

The suspect is described as a black female, late 20’s, approximately 5’02” and 115-120 lbs., slender build, wearing a tight black “doo rag”, tight black shirt and tight black pants.

“If you have any information or have surveillance video in the area, please contact Inv. Hensel at [email protected] or 678/553-6687 or contact Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404 577-Tips (8477) and remain anonymous,” the Police Department says.
