On Tuesday, Oct. 30, dine out in Decatur at one of the restaurants participating in the 7th Annual Restaurants for Repairs fundraiser.

Restaurants for Repairs takes a portion of the day’s proceeds at local restaurants to donate to the 2019 Decatur Martin Luther King Jr. Service Project, which happens in January during the MLK  Jr. holiday weekend.

According to a recent press release, this service project was started to offer “much-needed repairs to help Decatur senior citizens” lead comfortable and secure lives in their homes.

“As a result of many rainstorms over the past two years, there is an even greater need for funding,” a recent press release says.  “Many seniors have experienced roof leaks that will require professional roofers to repair or replace.”

Some of the participating restaurants include: Brick Store Pub, The Corner Pub, The Marlay House, Raging Burrito & Taco, and Universal Joint.
