DeKalb County Police identify man killed on North Druid Hills while marking road

DeKalb County Police have identified a man marking a road for future utility work who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Saturday morning, Oct. 6.

“On October 6, 2018, officers responded to North Druid Hills Road and Kittredge Park Road in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle,” the Police Department says. “The victim, Roy Rowland, 56, was in the roadway marking the road with paint for upcoming waterline repairs. The victim was struck by a vehicle traveling east on North Druid Hills Road and was pronounced dead at the scene.  There are no charges pending at this time and the investigation is still ongoing.”

The driver of the vehicle who hit the man stayed on the scene after the accident, police said.
