Informational healthcare event taking place in Decatur this weekend

This weekend, Cover Georgia, a coalition focused on improving healthcare access, will host a Health Care Voter Day for residents who want to learn more about or discuss healthcare issues.
According to the event’s organizers, the non-partisan event will feature a number of speakers and other civic organizations on hand to discuss the state’s policies on healthcare. Featured speakers include:
- Rev. Marlin D. Harris, Founding Pastor of New Life Church
- Taifa S. Butler, Executive Director of the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute
- Personal stories from Georgia’s coverage gap, highlighting the challenges faced by neighbors who can’t afford health insurance
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 11:30 a.m. at New Life Church, 3592 Flat Shoals Rd, Decatur Ga. 30034. After the event, attendees from DeKalb County are invited to walk together to vote early as well.
