The ground beneath you has a history, one that predates cities, countries and people.
It’s a story worth telling and local author Mark Pifer has done so. Pifer, a history buff who enjoys scouring his backyard with a metal detector, wrote “Native Decatur,” a book offering readers insights into the city’s past.
Pifer recently taped an episode of the Decaturish Podcast which you can listen to by clicking here.
Interested in learning more? Pifer will be signing copies of his book from noon to 3 p.m. on Dec. 8 and Dec. 22 at Kudzu Antiques + Modern, located at 2928 E Ponce de Leon Ave.
