Decatur is ringing in the holiday season with a few Christmas concerts on Saturday, Dec. 8 Sunday, Dec. 9.

On Dec. 8 at 4 p.m., the Decatur Civic Chorus is hosting the 2018 Annual Christmas Concert, held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Decatur, located at 308 Clairemont Ave, Decatur, Georgia 30030. The concert is free to attend.

According to a recent press release, the chorus will be singing, “Repeat the Sounding Joy: Traditional Favorites of the Season,” and the concert is free and open to the public.

Local community choir Just Voices is putting on their 18th annual Christmas concert, “Christmas Then and Now,” on Dec. 8 and 9.

“Christmas Then and Now” will include “carols both ancient and modern, sacred and secular,” including pieces such as “The Huron Carol,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” and “This Endris Night,” according to a recent press release.

Just Voices’ first concert for the weekend will be held at the Virginia Highland Church at 7 p.m. on Dec. 8 in Atlanta. The church is located at 743 Virginia Avenue NE Atlanta GA 30306. The following day, on Dec. 9, their second concert will be held at Holy Trinity Parish in Decatur at 4 p.m. The church is located at 515 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030.

Tickets will be sold at the door – $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors.
