After several days of rainy weather, the construction company developing the future Talley Street Upper Elementary school will work overtime in an effort to complete the project on time, according to an update from the city of Decatur.

Between Jan. 5 and Jan. 11, the company will have extended work hours. The construction schedule will be as follows:

  • Saturday, Jan. 5: construction from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 6: construction from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Jan. 7 through Friday, Jan. 11: construction expected all day, with some work days lasting from 3 a.m. until midnight.

The day-long schedule will allow the company to accommodate necessary concrete pours.

Those with any questions or concerns should contact the DEC Director John Maximuk at [email protected], the city said.
