Corner Cup, a neighborhood coffee shop in greater Decatur, on Jan. 8 opened its second location in Tucker.

The new store will be located at 2380 Main Street in Tucker. The hours of the Tucker location will be the same as the current store on Lawrenceville Highway in greater Decatur: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The restaurant sources its coffee from Beanealogy, a local company, and carries baked goods from other local vendors.

Owner Rich Lavery recently told Decaturish initial space for the store is 674 square feet, but he eventually wants to expand that location to 1,800 square feet to seat more people and provide some space to hold events.

“With Tucker being a new city, we want to encourage the development of that town through the coffee shop,” he said.

The Tucker store will have a similar vibe to the Decatur store, which is a neighborhood hub with a friendly atmosphere. In full disclosure, Decaturish routinely hosts its coffee hours at the store in greater Decatur.

“The first location is doing great,” Lavery recently said. “I now employ 12 different people from my local community right here and I just want to do that over there. We kind of know who we are at the moment. We’re the friendly, happy go lucky community coffee shop and we’re going to try to do that over there.”
