DeKalb and Decatur release revised schedule for MLK Jr. Day sanitation services

For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is on Monday, Jan. 21, DeKalb County sanitation services will be closed, altering resident’s collection schedule for the week.

Sanitation services include trash, recycling, and yard trimming collection.

Below is the altered schedule, as listed in a recent press release:

Monday, Jan. 21 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day observed. No sanitation collection service.

Tuesday, Jan. 22 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is Monday, Jan. 21, will be serviced on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

Wednesday, Jan. 23 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is Tuesday, Jan. 22, will be serviced on Wednesday, Jan. 23.

Thursday, Jan. 24 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is Wednesday, Jan. 23, will be serviced on Thursday, Jan. 24.

Friday, Jan. 25 – Residential customers whose regularly scheduled collection day is Thursday, Jan. 24, will be serviced on Friday, Jan. 25.

The Sanitation Division administrative office, North Transfer Station and Seminole Road Landfill are closing in observance of MLK Jr. Day as well, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 22, for their normal hours.

In addition, all City of Decatur offices will be closed for MLK Jr. Day. For those who reside in the city, trash and recycling services will go as follows, according to a recent press release:

– Regular services for Mon., Jan. 21 will be on Tues., Jan. 22.

– Regular services for Tues., Jan. 22 will be on Wed., Jan. 23.
