DeKalb County Watershed responds to water main break in Oakhurst

A water main break near Third Avenue and Gordon Street in Oakhurst disrupted service for some residents on Saturday evening, Jan. 12.

The break started earlier in the evening. There is no boil water advisory in effect. Some residents did say they experienced a loss of water pressure.

Messages sent to DeKalb County officials were not immediately returned. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.

A reader, April Biebel, sent in this video from the scene.

On Sunday morning, Jan. 13, a portion of Gordon Street was blocked off with yellow tape and red dirt could be seen on the pavement up and down Third Avenue. Two residents reported that water pressure had been restored.
