On Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., families with kids of all ages in the community are invited to come out to the annual Touch-A-Truck event.

Touch-A-Truck will host “City of Decatur and DeKalb County dump trucks, fire trucks, tractors, police cars, motorcycles, and many other types of vehicles,” for kids to explore, according to a recent press release.

This event will be held in the East Lake MARTA Station NORTH parking lot, located on DeKalb Avenue.

The MARTA station has limited parking, and since City of Decatur and MARTA are sponsoring Touch-A-Truck this year, attendees are encouraged to ride MARTA, ride bikes, or walk to the event.

Bike-riders will also get the chance to register their bike with the Decatur Police Department as well as receive a special bike pin from the event.

In addition, Touch-A-Truck will have a place for people to donate canned and non-perishable food goods for National Nutrition Month. Every donation will go to Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministry, or DEAM.

For updates about the event, check out: www.beactivedecatur.com. If Touch-A-Truck is rained out, it will be postponed to May 4.
