Decatur Civic Chorus hosting concert to benefit Decatur-Area Emergency Assistance Ministry

The Decatur Civic Chorus, in conjunction with other local choral groups, will host a concert to benefit the Decatur-Area Emergency Assistance Ministry (DEAM).

The concert will take place on Sunday, March 3, starting at  4 p.m. It will be held at Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church, 3260 Covington Highway, Decatur, GA 30032.

According to a press release from the chorus, DEAM provides emergency help for local residents “when financial difficulty prevents a person from buying food or prescription medication or paying a utility bill.”

Most of DEAM’s support comes from 22 local churches, who provide food, clothing and financial assistance. 

Performers at the concert will include the Avondale Pattillo UMC ChoirThe Bubba Rays, A Gospel Ensemble, Columbia Presbyterian ChurchChurch Street Station and a bluegrass group.

Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to make a cash donation to DEAM. Alternatively, donations of canned food, packaged cereal and pasta, paper goods, and basic toiletry essentials will also be accepted.
