Dear Decaturish,
Last month I parked, after 6 p.m, at the private lot between The Place on Ponce and Jimmy Johns. About three years ago the parking attendant kindly told me that after 6 p.m. there would be no charge. I have been parking there 1-2 evenings each month, without incident, as I enjoy a meal at one of my favorite restaurants, Cafe Lily.
When I returned to my car last month around 7:30 p.m. it was booted. I paid a young man $75.
I have not returned since, and have found many alternatives to spending money in Decatur.
I’ve always said that Decatur is the best city in Georgia. I now find the greed of the private lot owners, and the City of Decatur, disgusting.
Sincerely,
David F Williamson
