On Saturday, April 27, 18 YMCA locations throughout Metro Atlanta are hosting the 28th annual YMCA Healthy Kids Day, a festival that will be taking place at YMCA’s across the country.

According to a recent press release, this festival is free and will include “kid obstacle courses, family Zumba and Yoga classes, healthy snack inspiration stations, and other activities designed to motivate and teach families how to develop healthy routines at home.”

The YMCA’s goal is to inspire kids to develop healthy habits of consistent activity and learning as the school year comes to an end. The YMCA reported that weight gain is twice as fast in kids during the summer, and trends show that dwindling physical activities and learning opportunities affect school achievement in the fall.
