Reminder: Decatur Arts Festival is this weekend

The city of Decatur is gearing up for the annual Decatur Arts Festival, which will take place over Memorial Day weekend at the end of May.

Today, May 21, Agnes Scott College will host the annual juried fine arts exhibition at the Dalton Gallery in the Dana Fine Arts building from 5 until 7:15 p.m.

The festival will officially kick off with the ArtWalk even on Friday, May 24 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. People can stroll around the city to see exhibits at various shops and galleries and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks along the way, the city said.

On Saturday, May 25, the Kids Festival will take place at the Decatur Recreation Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Kids Festival will feature arts and crafts, inflatables, clowns and other family-friendly activities.

For the main heart of the festival, stop by the downtown Decatur square on May 25 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and May 26 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. More than 150 artists will have tents set up around downtown, offering jewelry, paintings, sculpture, photographs, glass work and more.

Throughout the weekend, the festival will also feature performing arts, including live music, theater and comedy.
