An unattended suitcase temporarily shut down the DeKalb County Courthouse and resulted in road closures in the immediate area, Decatur Police say.

The building and roads have reopened.

The Sheriff’s Office told Decaturish, “Operations have resumed at the DeKalb County courthouse following a Temporary closure and evacuation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office this morning as Decatur and DeKalb Police investigated a suspicious package at the judicial complex entrance. Bomb and canine units determined that the package posed no threat. It has been removed and the courthouse has been reopened.”
