Decatur Police on Monday, June 17, cited a driver following a two-car collision on Scott Boulevard.

Police responded to the scene of Scott Boulevard at Clairemont Avenue around 2:37 p.m.

“The accident investigation revealed that a silver 2001 BMW M5 was traveling westbound on Scott Boulevard (SR 8) at Clairemont Avenue (SR 155),” Police Lt. Jennifer Ross said. “A blue 2008 Honda Fit was traveling eastbound on Scott Boulevard and attempted to turn north onto Clairemont Avenue striking the BMW. The BMW then struck a sign and came to a stop after making contact with a utility pole. The driver of the Honda Fit sustained an injury to her wrist and was checked out on scene by rescue personnel and refused further treatment. No other injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed. The utility pole did not sustain any damage. The driver of the Honda Fit was cited for failing to yield while turning left.”
