The Georgia Department of Transportation will close lanes on South Candler Road this week until Friday, June 21.

The lane closures are for traffic signal upgrades.

“Weather permitting, crews will install alternating right and left single lane closures on Candler Road between Alston Drive and Kirk Road daily beginning Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at various locations in the project area,” GDOT said. “These lane closures help ensure safety for workers and drivers through the area as crews work to upgrade and/or replace traffic signal equipment on Candler Road and its intersections with Alston Drive, Hosea Williams Drive and Kirk Road. The project is scheduled for completion January 2020.

“Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through the project area during the project work hours.
