On Sunday, June 30, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Fernbank Science Center & Cumberland Island Museum is hosting an opening preview of the “Cumberland Island: A Fragile Beauty” exhibit, located at 156 Heaton Park Drive in Atlanta.

“Cumberland Island: A Fragile Beauty” features photos of the island from Atlanta’s Diane Kirkland as well as illustrations and notes of the biodiversity of the island from Carol Ruckdeschel, naturalist, biologist, and resident of Cumberland Island.

The opening preview of this exhibit will include an author talk from Ruckdeschel at 4:30 p.m., whose latest book is called “A Natural History of Cumberland Island,” followed by a book signing.
