The next public meeting to discuss the Stormwater Master Plan for the City of Decatur will be held on Tuesday, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Decatur Recreation Center, located at 231 Sycamore Street.

City of Decatur residents have been working with the city’s AECOM consultant team for close to a year on the Stormwater Master Plan, and now, the city is hosting a new series of meetings to discuss how to prioritize stormwater projects in Decatur.

The work put into this master plan over the past year, community members have given insight into the city’s flooding areas, maintenance, water quality, regulations, trees, funding, and green infrastructure.

On Tuesday, residents will get the chance to look over the drafted stormwater data model, “which was built from resident input to simulate how the system performs during rainstorms,” according to a recent press release. Now, community members can evaluate to see if the draft matches their experience on local streets.
