A cyclist suffered severe injuries on June 29 when a black Hyundai Accent swerved into a bike lane on Hosea L. Williams Drive in Kirkwood.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Hosea L. Williams Drive and Saunders Street. Police have a license plate number that a witness wrote down after following the vehicle, but so far police haven’t made any arrests.

The injured cyclist, Valerie Warren, is out of the hospital. She suffered a skull fracture, leaving her with a subdural hematoma, two broken ribs, a broken thumb, a broken collarbone and “a pretty significant concussion.” Now the husband of the cyclist, David Warren, has posted a $5,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the conviction of the person responsible.

“Atlanta Police Department is working the case, but has asked that I provide as much evidence as possible which is why I have canvassed the area searching for video of the car, driver, and passenger,” David Warren said. “Now, we have raised a $5,000 reward leading to the conviction of the responsible party. We want to share this information broadly so that someone will come forward with information as soon as possible.”
