La Calavera Bakery will leave its Decatur location on East College Avenue and will move down the road to Kirkwood, the company announced this week.

“We’ll be open here at 1696 Memorial Drive sometime next month,” the company said. “There will be an overlap period during which we’ll also still be selling bread out of our current spot in Decatur, but after September, this warm and pleasant place will be our sole location.”

Co-owner Dale Ralston told Eater Atlanta that the Decatur location wasn’t generating as much business as the company hoped.

“Our current location [on East College Avenue] is not ideal for attracting customers. Foot traffic has always been low to none at our current location,” Ralston told Eater.

The company opened its Decatur location in 2014.

The bakery serves up “whole grain breads, sourdoughs, tasty treats and Mexican pan dulce,” according to the company’s Facebook page.
