Michael Lo and his company Korean Wives Hospitality Group have signed the lease at Hosea + 2nd development to take over the space formerly occupied by Mary Hoopa’s House of Fried Chicken & Oysters.
That restaurant closed after it was threatened with eviction.
Lo said the new restaurant will be called Salaryman. Dictionary.com defines Salaryman as a Japanese term meaning “a white-collar businessman.”
“We expedited the liquor license approval process because it takes a good bit of time,” Lo said. ” … We are still working on other details but we loved what the Hosea & 2nd area is becoming and we know we want to showcase the great bar and patio ares at the space and make it an inviting place for all the locals. We’ll have more information coming out very soon but nothing more at this time.”
Lo operates Son of a Bear in Oakhurst. He recently closed his downtown Decatur concept, Taiyo Ramen.
Hosea + 2nd is located at 2371 Hosea L. Williams Drive.
