Readers are asking whether Big Tex restaurant in Decatur has closed its doors again.

On Tuesday morning, July 23, the restaurant confirmed it is “closed until further notice.” The company did not give a reason for its decision to close.

The restaurant closed in 2014, but reopened in 2017. Big Tex is supposed to be open on Mondays, but it was closed when a reporter visited on the evening of July 22. There were no notes on the door.

The most recent post on the company’s Facebook page says “Thanks for the memories”:

Decatur City Commissioner Scott Drake is one of the partners in the restaurant.
