Car hits power pole, temporarily closes East Parkwood Road in Decatur

A car struck a power pole on Thursday morning, Aug. 29, and temporarily shut down East Parkwood Road in Decatur.

“We responded to a single vehicle accident at approximately 6 a.m. involving a Hyundai Accent leaving the roadway and striking a power pole,” Police Lt. Jennifer Ross said. “The driver was cited for failure to maintain lane and transported to an area hospital for complaint of pain.”

No other information was available. The road has reopened.
